Oh Coffee, My Coffee

October 16, 2012

I have this oddly high expectation of what coffee is supposed to do for me in the morning. I work all day I sleep maybe 4 hours a night and my morning coffee thinks it can slack off? No, don’t think so. Not on my watch. I pay way too much money for coffee and buy way too many mugs for my coffee to give me a measly hop of energy. No! I need a full on catapult of energy to get me going.

My coffee is getting lazy. One year ago my amount of coffee intake was approximately one to two cups a day. A year later, the amount has doubled to mean that on average I drink at least five cups of coffee a day.

Granted, I am okay with this for the record. People keep saying it’s bad to drink that much coffee, whine whine whine. If it wakes me up and keeps me awake, I refuse to take any risk. But my general intake has been increasing as have my trips to Starbucks and here I am at 5 mad midnight drooping my eyes as I type. It is much too early for this high level of yawning and exhaustion.

I know I have an addiction, I know. But even now if I only have two instead of three, the headaches began… and it’s all down hill from there.

Coffee coffee coffee, why must you be so insanely addictive? Time for sleep until morning comes and with it my three cups of coffee…
