One Entire Year Ago

December 31, 2012

Well the time has come for me to write a big long sloppy blog post about my year. I have been thinking about what to say for a long time now, really a few months, but never came up with anything particular so I am just going to write and see what happens.

But I must say that keeping this blog all year long has been a true blessing. I am an extremely determined person, but I have a problem finishing things. I get bored way too easily and I give up on projects left and right. But I finally found something I am passionate about and made an attainable goal. And whether anyone read it or not, I am still proud of myself for having something to show for the year.

I’ve learned a lot of things having a blog. I learned a lot about myself and the things I like to write. I’ve learned about setting my mind to something and completing it. Dedication to a project. I’ve learned a lot about people; the types of things they like to read and the types of things they don’t like to read.  I’ve learned to write toward my audience but not to forget that I write for myself as well.

I am simply proud to say that I’ve accomplished something. Not one night has gone by that I haven’t opened a blank word doc and sat down to write about something. No matter how tired I was or how busy I was I always sat down and got it done. And I can honestly say I am proud of that.

As the new year comes in I have been debating about whether or not to keep my daily blog going. It keeps me writing and keeps me in good practice, but it takes up a lot of time I would like to be using to work on a bigger work. So I think to start out 2013 I will be blogging once a week on Sundays. This way I can deliver higher quality blog posts and I will have more time to work on a larger project I have going.

I hope that those of you who have been following and supporting me will continue to do so throughout the new year. I greatly appreciate the support and readership you all have given me even though my blog posts were rather silly sometimes.

Some people say New Years resolutions are silly. I agree if you give up on them after a week or two because not eating carbs is just too difficult. But if you set your mind to something and have an attainable goal for the year I think New Years resolutions are a wonderful thing. Not only do you accomplish something, but you learn a little bit about responsibility as well.

So as the new year rings in I close a door on my accomplishments of 2012 and open up a new door to the ones I will have in 2013.

I hope you all have a wonderful New Year!

Thank you and God bless.
