Spring Beauty Inspirations

Happy Easter everyone!

I woke up early this morning to the sound of baseball size rain drops, thunder and the sound of my whining dog scared from the storm. How ironic that Easter, the epitome of spring, brought the darkest of storms to my doorstep. But all the better reason to think of bright colors and happy sunshine to rid the sky of darkness right?

But regardless, through the terrible storms and constant rain, when the winter chill finally starts to recede, my eye turns from black and grey to yellow and blue.

So in inspiration of these rainy but lovely days to come, I thought it would be fun to do a spring inspired beauty post!

I think we all know that sea foam green is the color of the year this year. No matter what department store or little boutique you walk into, you will find a sea foam green blouse or dress hanging somewhere. A peachy/coral pink color is also really in this year, though I try to stay away from it. For some reason red hair and a coral just don't blend well together...

Along with pops of turquoise my absolute favorite spring (and really all time favorite) color is yellow! Yellow yellow yellow. It is a little bit of a contradiction considering most of my closet is gray and black, but there is a special section in there for my yellows. They brighten up any day and any face and characterize what spring is really all about, brightness and joy for the days to come.

Clothes and Jewelry
The joy that comes with spring has so much to do with what is going on outside. Like I said earlier, it seems that so much of spring is spent under rain drops, but when those rain drops clear up, the ground is full of green and pink and orange and purple and blue and every other color of flower you can imagine. Can't you just see their freshly sprouted buds bobbing gently in the wind as they grow?

Can clothes convey all that? Yes indeed.

Flowy tops are a key staple in my closet during this time of the year. It's getting a bit warmer and something loose and gentle makes everything more comfortable. Dainty necklaces and earrings are also perfect for this time of year. They are flirty and sweet. And of course incorporating whites and pastel colors into a spring outfit make all the difference! Here are my favorites for the spring:

  • The yellow polka dot top is from Buffalo Exchange.
  • The camera tank is my new favorite piece from Brandy Melville.
  • The skull bracelet is from my lovely friend and I made the purple wrap bracelets.

The thing about spring is it is always about being light, bright and conveying happiness. You might think, can make up convey all that? Yes indeed.

For me it's all about using peachy blushes, light brown eyeliners, white to accent the eyes and glossy pink lips. And you can't forget about nails. Going along with my favorite in the color section, I have been sporting the yellow nails lately, and loving every minute of it! It adds a pop of fun color turning any outfit into a spring time beauty.

  • It is hard to see from the photo, but the first item is pinky blush from Clinique
  • The nails polish is called Sunny Days from Rimmel London
  • The brown eyeliner from Nyx
  • And the pink lip gloss is called Icing from bareMinerals

Bath and Body
Spring bath and body is just too fun not to indulge in every now and then. Aside from from light and fruity body mists, body scrubs are my ultimate favorite this season. Summer is right around the corner and silky smooth skin is always in style during swim suit season. Fruity body scrubs not only give you that smooth skin you covet, but a fresh scent to go along with it. What can I say? I'm addicted.

  • The body mist is Pink Chiffon from Bath and Body Works
  • The scrub is Shea Sugar Body Scrub in tropical mango from the brand Tree Hut and I bought that at Ulta.

I hope you all had a lovely Easter or Sunday, however you celebrate. And I hope your spring time is filled with lots of lovely colors and scents and pretty tops! Happy Spring!

  1. I found your blog... >.>

Anyway, I just wanted to say I have that body scrub (from Kroger rather than Ulta), and it is
