The power of positive thinking

"Promote what you love instead of bashing what you hate."

I am on an eternal mission to be more positive. Eternal because I don't think anyone can have too much positivity in their lives. I am a positive person in general. But often times I let the little things get to me and I let a sour attitude take over my mouth. So when I let the little things bother me my mouth turns from loving to hateful and that isn't okay.

I think most of us are guilty of this. We are human after all. But that doesn't mean we can't try to change things. Each and every person has an immense amount of influence on the people around them. I wonder how much happier people would be if we used that influence to promote positivity through positive words. We could let all the rest fall to the way side because it isn't important to voice negative thoughts all the time.

I remember when I was young  I was a real snot. And I wasn't always nice to people (namely my brother). My mom would always tell me to say something nice or nothing at all. I hated it at the time because all I wanted to do was call my brother a poopy stinking fart face and throw a couple punches, but maybe she was on to something.

Perhaps saying just the nice things would- wait for it- make us all feel a little bit happier. Shocker I know I know, I just blew everyone's minds. But really, who needs gossip. Who needs hateful words.

So I am going to try to live by that motto: promote what you love instead of bashing what you hate. Who knows what could come of it, maybe in the end I will be happier and have a more positive outlook.
