How time flies when you have so much homework

Exactly two years ago today, I was walking to my very first University class. The class was English 1310 with Dr. Anderson. I was a nervous freshman with a colony of butterflies in my stomach. And I could not for the life of me decide if I wanted to go by Nicole or Nikki. I resorted to being called whatever came out of my mouth first, which was sometimes a nifty little compilation of Nicole and Nikki. I now respond to "hey you, chick who doesn't know her own name."

(Nikki as a freshman)                                                                        (Nikki as a sophomore)

But aside from the classic hiccups, my first day as a nervous little fish treated me well. The days following however... well that's a different story.

And now here I am two years later about to enter my junior year of university. Since that quintessential first day I have been published, had an internship, cried in front of a teacher, started a blog, made best friends, found an awesome job, learned how to use professional audio equipment, bought a car, been broken hearted, embarrassed myself in front of a celebrity, eaten lots of ramen, tried and failed at writing multiple books and developed my coffee habits to become a full on addiction. My oh my how two years fly.

There have been some terribly awful moments the past two years, but there have also been some of the best i've ever had. And alongside continuing my education and my advancement in the professional world, I hope to continue to grow as a person. I'm excited for the things I will discover about myself and the things I will accomplish.

And as I stand here in the middle of my closet choosing what outfit to wear on my first day, I realize life is about those moments that I truly live and experience every little thing I can regardless of age or status.

I couldn't be more thankful that I have been given the chance to take all of these opportunities coming my way and to experience every little last thing.

Here's to another insightful two years and hopefully all As!
