How to stay a dedicated blogger- even when the planner is full

As a blogging-obsessed sleep-deprived college student I’m often put between a rock and a hard place when choosing if I want to sleep or if I want to blog. Many fellow bloggers have approached me with the same problem. And not that I’m an expert, but I have a pretty good grasp on planning and staying organized.

So here are my tips on how to work around that crazy schedule, get in your much needed blogging time and become a dedicated blogger!

Buy a planner- Planning out blog posts in an actual planner is a life saver. You add it in there like any other event or homework assignment so you have no excuse to forget.

Blog on certain days- I’ve found during the school semester it isn’t feasible for me to blog every day. But as a nice little compromise I find days of the week I want to post, and write accordingly.
For example I do a Motivational Monday post every Monday.  I also like blogging on Thursdays and Sundays. Take some time and find days that are best for you!

Make a habit out of it- Blogging is meant to be a fun little outlet (which it still is), but the only way to become a better writer is practice. So make it a habit. You brush your teeth every day so the least you can do is blog once a week (or more if you so choose)! Before you know it, you will be on the verge of falling into a deep sleep when you wake up in a panic because you forgot to blog!

Blog about things you want to blog about- Your blog is your own. Sometimes I feel people talk about certain topics only because they think it’s the trend. Or other people don’t talk about things they really want to because they are afraid people will judge them. Your blog is your own. Don’t let anyone scare you into doing something you don’t want to.

If you stick to what you love, you will find yourself popping up with post ideas left and right and the blogging infection won’t ever go away!

Make you blog your own- Spruce it up design wise! I’ve been blogging for a while and even still I like to change my blog up every now and then. It gives it a little refresher, and then you can take pride in that knowing your blog is pretty and clean and ready for some readers!

Blogging is all about having fun and expressing you. At the end of the day that is what will make you a successful and dedicated blogger. The more you love your blog the more you are going to write for it.

  1. Great tips, I need to buy a planner and have more of a schedule!

    1. Thanks! Buying a planner was the best decision for me honestly. Planning out tasks and things just helps to stay organized and helps you remember things you would otherwise forget! xo
