Eventbrite Hometown Hunt: Dallas, Texas

As a part of Evenbrite's Hometown Hunt I decided to share with you some of my favorite venues located right within my hometown. When I want to find events locally I use Eventbrite. They also have tools to manage your own events as well, check it out here! They are a really neat company that does event management and where you can buy/sell tickets.

So, I'm writing today to talk about good ol' Dallas, Texas, y'all. I've lived in or near Dallas, Texas for the past 10 years. I got to spend my high school, college and now young adult life here. While I don't think I will be a Dallas-ite forever, I have to give credit where credit is do. Dallas IS indeed, pretty magical.

Most of the time, when I go deep into the city, I am going for a concert. I am a regular and obsessive concert goer, so companies like Eventbrite are great for someone like me who is always going to shows. I have to give it to Dallas, because this city has an amazing concert scene. Even for someone like me, who is mostly into alternative, pop punk and metal music, there is never a lack of a concert. Naturally, I have been to most if not all of the major concert venues in Dallas, and they are by far my favorite place to go and see a show if I need something fun to do on the weekends.

There are three venues that have captured my heart and soul, partly because of the amazing bands and artists I've seen play there, and partly because they are all around great concert venues for any type of show.

House of Blues Dallas

The House of Blues has that classic Rock N Roll feel that will capture every audience. From the art above the stage to the curtains and mezzanine seating area, it captures the old timey feeling of rocking out to your favorite band in a classic building. The bar tenders there are awesome and the view of the stage is perfect from any location. Even the outside of the building looks bright and lively!

South Side Ballroom
Gilley's Dallas

I have seen a number of shows at the South Side Ballroom and love it every single time. Some people are iffy on this venue as there isn't a lot of seating, and sometimes it can be hard to see. But if you're a concert goer like me and you enjoy pushing your way toward the front, this venue rules. The bar tenders are nice and the space itself is quite large giving you plenty of room to spread out if you prefer enjoying shows from afar.

The Loft
Gilley's Dallas

This little venue is in the same building as South Side Ballroom, but just a few floors up. The space is small, yet cozy. It's perfect for an intimate concert with a small band or acoustic artist. There's a bar in this space as well. What makes this venue unique is the outside terrace. The outdoor space has various seating option, but most importantly has a picturesque view of the city that you can't get anywhere else.
